Rates
If you do not have insurance or elect not to use it, the prices of the sessions are as follows:
As of June 1, 2021, the rates for sessions will be as follows.
Individual Sessions: $160.00 for first initial session to complete Case/History Assessment. Be prepared to spend approximately 1 Hour to 30 Minutes for this session. Each Session thereafter is $130.00.
Adams Counseling Service, PLLC has a sliding fee scale. Please call for further details
Insurance
Medicare, BCBSNC, Aetna, Humana, United Behavioral Health/Optum, American Behavioral, Behavioral Health Systems, Anthem/Wellpoint EAP, New Directions Behavioral Health EAP, Coventry Healthcare, Title XIX Medicaid, Cigna, and Magellan. Also, as of June 1, 2021, Adams Counseling Service will accept the following Medicaid:
NC Healthy Blue Medicaid, Carolina Complete Health Medicaid, and Humana/Optum Medicaid.
**Please verify coverage with your respective insurance companies before setting an appointment**
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
Payment
I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
